Sea Turtle, Wave-2 3/4 ” L x 2 3/8 ” W, shown in Blue Crackle.  I carve stamps to emboss the turtles. I play with the color combinations and designs and sometimes use shades of several colors in one design. This design was inspired by Hawaiian petroglyphs and Japanese family crests. While the backs of the sea turtles are glazed the bodies are left unglazed and as a result turn black during the raku firing. The sea turtles come in an assortment of blue, greens, and turquoise.
